Berkshire removals FAQs
The things people ask most before booking a move — grouped by county coverage, home, business, man-and-van, Europe and quotes, so you can find yours quickly.
Coverage & the county
Do you cover the whole of Berkshire?
Yes — county-wide across the RG and SL postcodes. Reading, Slough, Bracknell, Windsor, Maidenhead, Newbury, Wokingham and Ascot, plus Thatcham, Crowthorne, Sandhurst, Woodley, Earley and the villages between.
Do you move between Berkshire towns?
Constantly — a Reading flat to a Wokingham house, a Slough terrace to a Maidenhead apartment. Cross-county moves are the bread and butter of a county mover, and we plan the route and timing around both addresses.
Do you cover rural addresses and villages?
Yes. Much of west Berkshire is villages and homes with gravel drives and gated access. We check the access ahead of the day — lane widths, gateways, where a larger van can turn — so the crew is not caught out.
House & home moves
Can you handle period and high-value homes?
Yes — Windsor’s Georgian townhouses, riverside homes, gated Ascot houses. Conservation-area access, narrow historic lanes and high-value contents mean careful, surveyed moves rather than rushed ones.
Do you dismantle and reassemble furniture?
We do — beds, wardrobes, flat-pack and anything that needs breaking down to move safely, rebuilt at the other end. Blankets, straps and corner protection are standard, and floors and doorframes are protected at both properties.
What if my chain slips?
Clean, secure storage bridges the gap between a move-out and a move-in, with an inventory taken as your goods go in. Move-and-store folds it into one booking with one team.
Business & office moves
Do you move offices in the Thames Valley business parks?
Regularly — Green Park and Thames Valley Park in Reading, the Slough Trading Estate, Bracknell’s corporate sites. We plan the move around your trading, handle the goods lifts and loading bays, and work with building management at both ends.
Can you handle the IT?
Yes — desks and workstations decommissioned, kit labelled and crated by user or department, then set back up so people plug in and get on. Where you have your own IT provider, we coordinate around them.
Can a business move be phased?
Yes. Larger relocations often run in phases so one part of the business stays live while another moves. We work to a floor-plan and a crate-labelling scheme so everything lands where it belongs.
Man & van and small moves
What is the difference between man and van and a full removal?
Man and van is a driver and a right-sized van for a smaller job — a room, a few items, a flat, a collection. A full removal brings a larger crew and more protection. Tell us what is moving and we will point you at the right one.
Do you move single, awkward items?
Yes — a sofa, a fridge-freezer, a wardrobe, a piece of office kit. The heavy and awkward ones are where a second pair of hands and the right technique matter, and where we protect the item and the walls.
European moves
Which countries do you move to from Berkshire?
France, Spain, Italy and Portugal, with a dedicated page for each route. We collect from across the county and run the load down the M4 and M25 to the Channel.
Who handles the customs paperwork?
We do. A move to the EU now needs a customs declaration and a detailed inventory, and used household effects may qualify for relief when transferring your main residence. We prepare the declarations and transit documents and tell you what to provide.
Quotes & booking
Why do you not show prices?
Because an honest removals price depends on your specifics — volume, distance, access, stairs, parking, storage. A headline figure sight unseen is a guess. Send the details and you will get a clear, itemised written quote for your actual move.
How do I get a quote and how quickly do you reply?
Send the details through the quote form — what is moving, both addresses, and anything that shapes the day. We read every enquiry and reply promptly by email during working hours. For bigger or cross-county moves we arrange a survey first.
Moving in Berkshire?
Tell us what is moving and where from and to across the county. We will survey where it helps and come back with a clear, itemised written quote and a plan for the day — no numbers plucked from the air.
